For more than 20 years, PayPal has remained at the forefront of the digital payment revolution, leveraging technology to help make financial services and commerce more convenient, affordable, and secure. Following tremendous company growth and broader cultural change, there was an opportunity to expand and energize the brand, building upon the strength of their iconic assets.

Outcome

The visual identity is a natural evolution of the iconic PayPal look and feel, encompassing a new set of brand principles built on trust, delight, equality, and community. A new graphic language, paired with motion assets bring the evolved logo and brand to life — constantly opening up to show the possibilities with PayPal. For both warmth and brand recognition, Gold was added to the primary color palette to complement the refreshed blues.


The project elevated and unified PayPal’s global identity spanning visual, verbal, and sonic components.

Underpinning the work was a renewed set of principles and a rallying brand purpose to champion possibilities for everybody.
